When I first arrived in the United States from France, I was amazed to rediscover Valentine’s Day. In France, Valentine’s Day is a reduced version of what it is here. The day is exclusively reserved to one’s romantic love. Expressing your feeling to anyone else other than your sweetheart would be a terrible faux-pas!
Love is when he gives you a piece of your soul,
that you never knew was missing.
On this side of the Atlantic, however, experiencing the outpouring of love and appreciation from friends, family members and even colleagues is truly heartwarming. What a beautiful day! Indeed, what is more important than Love? Love for your beloved, your family, your friends, your work, your community, your country, your planet. No matter what you are doing with your time, if it’s not motivated by Love at some level, is it really worth it?
Many scientific studies have proven that components of Love – connection with others, purpose in your daily activities and easy expression of your feelings – are absolutely vital to your health. Actually, they determine your life expectancy. Human beings who live alone are not expected to live as long as those living in partnership. Love in all its wondrous variations is as essential to you as air and water.
Love is the only sane and satisfactory answer
to the problem of human existence.
In my practice I see a large stream of people with issues relating to Love and the heart. The symptoms may be physical or emotional. These include pain, lack of meaning, despair… they can’t go any further. We work together for a few sessions to clear tensions, blockages and free the path for a new outcome. Within a few weeks they reconnect to Love: a partner, a job they love, a hobby. Nourished by this Love, they feel fulfilled and accomplished. In this state the body has all it needs to do what it knows best: self-healing. The need for sessions is over.
For the next 14 days I want to celebrate Love in all its diversity. Everyday you will find on my Facebook page a picture, a quotation or video on Love: self-love, romantic love, family love, love for strangers and more. See you there!
Love cures people –
both the ones who give it
and the ones who receive it.
